For those club members who don't have access to Social Media, I will be copying cyclocross result posts from Facebook on here with a link to the results each week. I would encourage any rider/parent to add more detail to these posts. Its always nice to read a more personal, detailed race report.

From 5th October, Round 4 at Shrewsbury: Last weekend the SolihullCC Cyclocross racers travelled to Shrewsbury for Round 4 of the WMCCL. Well done to everyone who raced but particularly to three U16s who finished in the top 10 - Jack Fothergill, William Ryan and Oliver Tandy. The Shrewsbury course ran the event in the opposite direction to normal and changed some sections which made for a technically demanding course in dry conditions. There were a number of top 10s in other categories from club members, but three in the U16s race is outstanding!

Cyclocross results from Round 6 of the WMCCL at Stoneleigh Park on 28th October: This event took place the same day as Round 2 of the National Trophy Series (Cyclocross National League) in Scotland. It is the first time any round of the National Series has been held in Scotland and some of the photos on social media have been splendid. Three of our riders travelled to Scotland on that day.

Some great results from our 24 riders at Round 6 of the WMCCL at Stoneleigh Park. Our vets posted great results in their age categories: Pete 2nd, Bernard 6th, Gary 3rd and Neil 22nd. The seniors came in 7th for Claude, 20th for Michael H and DNF for Mike B who punctured.

It wasnt meant to be for our three riders (Akhil, Conor & William) in Scotland, but they will be back, wiser and stronger. Our trio of U16s in the WMCCL produced stunning performances to finish 4th, 5th and 6th for Oliver, Jack and Jacob. The U14s also did well with Max 3rd, Ben 5th and Marc 11th. Our youngest riders all performed brilliantly so well done to Ella, Holly, Samuel, Patrick, Rose, Daniel, Matthew, Samuel, Seb, Daniel and James.

A great turnout by SolihullCC in the youth (particularly U10s , U14s & U16s) and vets races at Blackwell on Sunday. We would like to encourage more club riders to participate in the senior mens race and more females in any category.

The day was damp and conditions slippy in parts, but our youngest riders once again came up with some outstanding results: U6 Ruben Garner 2nd, U8 James Caine 4th, U10s Teddy Wright 13th, Samuel Thomas 16th, William Garner 20th, Daniel Brownsword 22nd, Seb Rogers, 24th and Rose Neely 6th. U12s, Holly Saunders 4th, Patrick Neely 25th.

U14s Max Saunders 6th, Akhil Kolnaty 7th, Ben Woodhouse 10th, Jack Alexander 24th and William Menzies 25th. U16s Conor Jones 5th, Oliver Tandy 7th, Jacob Jones 12th and William Ryan 13th.

Junior Tom Green was 11th, David Green and Michael Harrison were 24th and 26th respectively in the V45s, Claire Harris was 3rd in her category in the women's race and Judith Harper 2nd. Neil Taylor 33rd in V50s, Gary Rowing-Parker 5th in V60 whilst our V65 riders Peter Ward and Bernard Wareing finished 3rd and 6th respectively. Well done all!

Results can be viewed here: http://www.chiprace.co.uk/results.aspx?CId=38&RId=20305 The results give you details such as lap times, club names, final times, category etc so if you are interested in understanding each race in more detail, the results are worth clicking onto.

Next week the WMCCL goes to Newport in Shropshire for Round 8. Good luck all.

Once again the Club was well represented at the WMCCL on Sunday at Newport in Shropshire. 20 riders (14 of which were younger than 16) took to the start line on a muddy course which was attended by world champion Evie Richards! It was also our girls who continue to perform well. Top 10s achieved by 9 riders - Daniel and Rose in the U10s, Ella and Holly in the U12s, Akhil in the U14s, Oliver in the U16s, Tom in the Juniors, Claire in the V40s and Gary in the V60. Well done everyone!

Meanwhile 4 of our young riders travelled to Crawley for Round 3 of the National Trophy Series. First year U16 William Ryan was the highest Club finisher at 21st. Conor and Jacob came in 34th and 47th. In the Junior race, Jack Rootkin-Gray finished 24th in his first National CX outing this season. Well done lads.

Next week the WMCCL is in Stourport and Round 4 of the National Trophy Series is in York on 24th Nov, another new venue for the series.
