Three distances
The challenging '100 mile Sportive' is the toughest of the three distance rides. Your confidence, fitness and technical ability is crucial to enjoy this 100 mile ride. You can read our 2018 lead-out rider, Tom Lennon's Blog by clicking here to get inspired to take on the main ride!
The '100 km Challenge' is also a tough route, still hilly in several parts but definitely achievable.
The 'Friendly 50 km' is the perfect course for those new to cycling who want a goal to improve their fitness – a beautiful, flatter route along quiet roads with lots of support from start to finish.
Promote your Club!
There is plenty of green space by the Start Area at Walton Hall for cycling clubs to come along and set up a team meeting point. Clubs are welcome to bring branding such as feather flags, banners and information for participants who may be inspired after the ride to join a local group!
Team Challenges!
The epic Hill Climb Challenge will be back for the 100 mile and 100 km races as well as the four rider Team Challenge (also just applicable to our 100 mile and 100 km events) which will also be returning for 2019 to offer a more competitive element with trophies for each member of the fastest team.
(Pictured above is the Shipston Cycling Club who won the 100km challenge with each member taking 3 hours 32 minutes.)
A NEW memento for your epic achievement
Whichever route you choose, all riders will receive a brand new medal in 2019 as part of their entry... as well as plenty of sustenance on the day as we take your nutrition very seriously! You can also choose to order one of the bespoke purple, technical fabric Great Shakespeare Ride jerseys as a wearable memento by just adding this to your entry - for an extra £30.

Your entry helps raise essential funds for our services
The hospice provides support to families affected by life limiting illness, servicing a population of over 300,000 across South Warwickshire and the North Cotswolds. To continue to provide its current level of service, the hospice will need to secure total funding of £2.4 million.
Last year, over 450 cyclists took part in The Great Shakespeare Ride, helping to raise a massive £23,000. With your help, we would love to raise £30,000 this year.
We hope to see you there.
Happy Bike Week!
Best wishes,
The Great Shakespeare Ride Team |
