Covid Rule of Six. Implications for club runs
The so called rule of six applies from Monday 14 September. The main difference is this is now mandatory rather than just guidance. I think only minor adjustments needed to ensure compliance as follows:
Rendezvous
We should sharpen up the way we assemble at the rendezvous points, particularly where more than one ride starts from the same place. Groups of no more than six separated by at least 2 metres will be OK.
It may be advisable to establish more than one rendezvous point on Sundays. Although there is plenty of space at Morrisons, the public perception might be that SCC has gathered en masse. Plenty of options are available between Clock Tower and Morrisons, so it’s easy to do. If we decide to do this we should publicise it quickly and as best we can.
Group riding
We should continue to restrict group size to 6 riders, maintaining significant separation when we split the ride and avoid coalescing into a larger group
Cafes
Max six on a table and tables separated by 2m. Respect any additional requirements by the café, and encourage riders to carry face covering. While the weather is good enough for us to sit outside things should be manageable. In bad weather and when it’s too cold to sit out, things will probably be more difficult.
Pub stops
Much the same as cafés really, no more than 6 on a table, and maybe don’t sit at adjacent tables if avoidable?
Local Lockdown starting Tuesday 15 September
As far as I can tell, the Solihull Local Lockdown has no implications for our club runs
