We offer a wide range of carefully graded group rides throughout the week to provide club members with a programme of enjoyable and safe recreational runs.
The wearing of helmets on club runs is not mandatory, however we strongly recommend riders do wear a well fitted helmet. Riders without helmets are advised to check in advance with the relevant Run Leader to ensure our volunteers leaders are prepared to lead a ride unless all participants are wearing a helmet,
e-bikes are welcomed on our recreational (C-F) rides PROVIDING they are "road legal" which means limited to 25kph or 15.6mph. We do not allow time trial bikes or tricycles on club rides. Your bike is expected to be roadworthy!
These are rides to a refreshment destination led by volunteer club members. Ride average speeds are indicative, because the nature of the route and weather will inevitably affect the pace on the day. The difference between grades (pace and distance) is probably just as important.
The intention is to have a programme of rides which allows everyone to find a preferred ride, but where moving up a grade is realistic, or down a grade if fitness is below normal.
There are six grades as described below. The full range operates on Sundays, with additional rides on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Less formalised runs to fixed destinations or on fixed routes may be available on Saturday and Thursday mornings
