The club holds a traditional early season reliability ride annualy - there's distances to suit every rider
A reliability rides is not a race, but a test of early season fitness and for some a chance to test out their bike for up and coming road races. Rides are run on time standards, so the fastest riders will aim for the shortest time standard, but the longest standard should be attainable by all club riders. You’ll have to be prepared to navigate yourself; the route is sometimes published with a cue sheet but mainly with a .gpx file and more recently a strava route. Routes are not marked, so navigation is part of the ride. The rides are also not supported, so no feed stations or broom wagons. However most reliability rides do have refreshments at the end of the route. Reliability rides are akin to sportives but much more basic & grass roots orientated.

What to expect from the different groups
( subject to change )
Long route will have two groups - one at above our A run pace - 32kph
Another at our B run pace - 29kph
Middle route will potentially have a couple of groups also
one at 27kph and one at 25kph
Short route will have a group at 22kph
We do tend to use mudguards during the winter at Solihull
However this wont be expected in all the groups but will be advised in the slower groups
Reliability rides ARE NOT races
However they do get ridden very fast in the faster groups and there doesn't tend to be any waiting for any mechanicals or punctures so please bear this in mind
Hopefully you can join us this year
