We welcome prospective club members and visitors to join rides. Please see the members Facebook page and WhatsApp groups for latest updates to the rides published below.
Up to 15 members riding together around a course (usually via a café stop), led by a ride leader who will provide audible instructions/warnings (eg. coming to a stop/turning left/potholes etc), which are cascaded through the group.
There is a wealth of experience within the club helping to provide a safe and enjoyable experience whilst improving riding skills as part of a group.
Bikes are typically road bikes including hybrids. Specialist time-trial bikes are not permitted on club group rides. E-bikes are welcome, however they are not really suitable on our sporting (A and B) rides.
We suggest new and prospective members pick a level below their potential, until they are comfortable to move up.
We have a full programme of graded rides via café stops, led by volunteer club members. Our aim is to support everyone to find a suitable ride which is enjoyable and safe.
Some rides are more challenging than others, giving members complete flexibility to relax or push themselves, dependant on their personal goals/fitness levels.
We plan the programme around the four seasons and publish each schedule on this website.
Changes to the published programme will be notified using Club Members’ Facebook and WhatsApp groups
June calendar below - July and August to follow ASAP
The Saturday morning station ride now runs at 9am from Dorridge station running on the following agreement
Three "sections" along the route
1. Sensible speed group riding to Norton Lindsay along the lanes
2. Potentially through and off to Little Alne keeping all those who want to contribute in the rotation
3. Then as fast as the riders fancy to the finish
With the caveats
- No jumping junctions - those on the front have to make a judgement based on the group size not just themselves
- No smashing round horses or tractors
- If any under 18s on the ride stopping to support if they have problems is expected
- If only adults then stopping for punctures or mechanicals depends on circumstances at the time
-Stopping fro crashes Always
- Solihull CC stalwarts should have mudguards but no mudguards won't be frowned upon if you're younger or newer to the club - therefore mudguards ore not mandatory
