time trials and hill climbs

Solihull CC has a long tradition in time trialling with previous local and national champions. 

We offer, throughout the summer months, a comprehensive time trial program open to club members and guest riders to have a go at, on various different courses and different distances

For 2025 we are holding are 14 club events with TT distances ranging from 5-17 miles as well as 3 hill climb events. 

HELMETS AND FRONT & REAR LIGHTS ARE MANDATORY

New for 2025

The second year of the Bas Francis Road Bike Cup

A handicapped competition of road bike only time trials this year run exclusively by Solihull Cycling Club in May, June & July 

Like last year there will be only one winner

The Competition is handicapped by age as well as gender, so everyone competes on a level playing field

This competition is open to everyone including members of other clubs and we encourage you to come and join us for this 10 event league 

Any Competitors under the age of 18 wishing to compete must first fill in a parental consent form for club events. Our events are open to all competitors provided they are at least 12 years old. Sign on will open 1hour before the event starts at the location linked under each course

Road bikes only as the CTT regulations for league points - the regulations have had an update for 2025 and you can view them on the CTT website here 

All of our time trials are open to riders on time trial bikes 

Solihull CC Trophies - Changes for 2025

Trophies can only be awarded to members who note Solihull as a first claim club & have been a member for over 6 months prior to the competition date. 

For 2025 onwards the 'Solihull CC Club Time Trial Champion' will be the Solihull rider that places highest in the Bas Francis Road Bike Cup competition because historically we have only had one trophy which was usually won by a man and this gives all members a chance to become the overall time trial champion 

The Club 5mile trophies and Club 10mile trophies - which there is one for each gender and age category - will be awarded to the fastest rider on a road bike in the events designated the club championships

The Club 25mile, 50mile, 100mile, 12hour, and 24hour trophies will be awarded to the rider who has achieved the fastest time in any CTT event of that distance in 2025 - in order to claim one of these trophies you must fill the Time Trial enquiry form in at the bottom of the page and submit a link to the results - this can be either an open or a club event - and these trophies are open to riders on TT bikes
